ATD Cuts the Ribbon at Pennsylvania’s New Million-Square-Foot Mixing Warehouse
American Tire Distributors, Inc. (ATD) today celebrated the opening of its new one million-square-foot Pocono Mixing Warehouse in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania. To mark the occasion, ATD President & CEO Stuart Schuette, ATD Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Mark Chandler and Tobyhanna Township Manager John J. Jablowski Jr. hosted ATD associates and members of the local community for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“We are proud to open the doors of our newest mega-warehouse right here in Blakeslee – a wonderful community and the perfect location to serve customers up and down the Eastern seaboard,” said Schuette. “This investment will not only create jobs and open new economic opportunities for Blakeslee, it will propel ATD forward in our mission to deliver game-changing service to our customers each and every day.”
“It’s a pleasure to welcome new associates to the ATD family, right here in Pennsylvania,” added Chandler. “Led by General Manager Jennifer Green – who has a wealth of retail distribution experience – our new warehouse team will be at the vanguard of an industry-leading supply chain, with unparalleled capacity to meet and surpass expectations with every delivery. We’re looking forward to beginning shipments next month.”
The Pocono Mixing Warehouse will receive and ship more than 2.5 million tires per year, along with wheels, tools and other automotive supplies. It will house all of ATD’s proprietary and imported brands including Hercules, Ironman, Nexen and Dynatrac. The facility will also be home to ATD’s sixth warranty adjustment center.
Noting the value that ATD will bring to the community, Jablowski remarked, “Tobyhanna Township welcomes American Tire Distributors to the growing family of businesses now calling our region home. This $70 million investment has created nearly 150 construction jobs and 70 full time jobs. With every new addition, we are driving prosperity and making Tobyhanna Township an even better place to live, work, visit and raise a family.”
The Pocono Mixing Warehouse will primarily service vendors in the northeast and mid-Atlantic United States, as well as eastern Canada. It will begin shipments on December 3, 2018.
