Hercules Tires adds to Strong Guard® series with all-new HDO regional open shoulder drive tire
Hercules Tires, a subsidiary of American Tire Distributors (ATD), today launched the newest addition to the Strong Guard premium truck tire family – the Strong Guard® HDO. The new Strong Guard HDO regional drive tire offers an open shoulder tire for medium trucks featuring new compounds and technologies that deliver dependable traction and extended mileage. With an exclusive tread and sidewall design, the Strong Guard HDO also features a curb guard for high scrub applications along with specially angled grooves on the shoulder lugs to help repel stones from the base of the tread.
- Gen-H tread compound delivers increased mileage in addition to promoting outstanding wet traction and stable handling via a calculated balance of compounds.
- Open shoulder tread design promotes self-cleaning while enhancing traction in all road conditions.
- 3D sipes increase control in dry and slippery conditions while guarding against irregular wear by interlocking the tread blocks to improve rigidity and reduce deformation.
- 12% wider tread provides 11% more surface area, than the previous generation tires, improving vehicle stability and removal mileage

The Strong Guard HDO features 8 SKU’s ranging from 19.5” to 24.5” fitments offering some of the most impressive coverage in the industry. All Strong Guard premium truck tires carry a seven-year limited protection policy including free tire replacement during the first 50 percent of usable tread life under the workmanship and materials coverage. Additionally, Hercules Strong Guard medium truck tires carry a casing allowance for up to three retreads.
